TIGHITCO, Inc. is an industry leader in the design, fabrication, and assembly of engineered components for aerospace and industrial applications. TIGHITCO is comprised of three divisions – Complex Composite Structures, Insulation Products, and Overhaul Support Services, supported by five facilities located throughout North America. Responsibilities

  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership and guidance to the engineering team, overseeing the development and implementation of manufacturing processes for composite parts in the aerospace industry.
  • Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of engineers, providing guidance, support and opportunities for professional growth and development
  • Process Optimization: Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvements, implementing best industry practices and innovative solutions to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive a culture of continuous improvement and lean manufacturing, fostering innovation and creativity within the engineering team to drive ongoing enhancements to manufacturing processes and technologies.
  • New Product Introduction: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support new product development initiatives, from concept to production, ensuring that engineering requirements are met within schedule and budget constraints.
  • Resource Management: Manage the engineering team, including recruitment, training, and performance management, to ensure the team has the necessary skills and resources to meet objectives set by leadership.
  • Tooling Management: Manage the design, procurement and acceptance of tooling for all products.
  • Vendor and Supplier Management: Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to source materials and components, ensuring alignment with quality and performance requirements.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with all customer requirements upholding quality standards and regulatory requirements, implementing rigorous quality assurance processes to maintain the highest level of product quality.
  • Health and Safety: Champion a culture of safety within the engineering team and across the manufacturing facility, ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations and promoting a safe working environment.

Qualifications

  • This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Extensive experience in aerospace composite manufacturing, with a strong understanding of composite materials, manufacturing processes and industry certifications.
  • Proven leadership experience, with a track record of successfully managing engineering teams and driving innovation in a manufacturing environment.
  • Exceptional creativity and problem-solving skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others to think creatively and explore innovative solutions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of quality management systems and regulatory requirements in the aerospace industry.
  • Commitment to excellence, with a passion for driving continuous improvement and delivering high-quality results.

Education and/or Experience:    

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Supervisory Responsibility:

Supervise and lead all members of the Engineering Department.

Pay Range

USD $130,000.00 - USD $160,000.00 /Yr.
